Earth's Internal Heat — Endogenic Processes

From the Exogenic Processes, we move on now to the Endogenic Processes. Here we learned how Earth also has heat in it! Let's look deeper into this lesson to look back at what I have learned! Regarding the different kinds of heat on our planet, we have Primordial Heat and Radiogenic Heat . Primordial Heat is sometimes referred to as ‘Ancient Heat’ as it was the leftover heat after the Earth’s first few million years of evolution. On the other hand, Radiogenic Heat refers to the spontaneous nuclear disintegration of natural radioactive elements inside the planet. Based on what we have learned, heat can be transferred in three ways: (1) Conduction, (2) Convection, and (3) Radiation . Conduction happens to the solid parts and regions of the Earth. Conversely, Convection dominates to large quantities of fluids (molten rocks) exist. In contrast, while Conduction and Convection are from within the Earth, Radiation is the heat exchange between the Sun and Earth. I learned a lot from th...
